1 in every 8 people in the United States are food insecure.  32% of whom live above the poverty line and don't qualify for traditional government nutrition programs.  90% of the food insecure are not homeless but have at least one working adult in the household.       

But what does food insecurity in your community look like?  

Understanding food insecurity in your community will help you meet those needs.  Start by mapping the meal gap in your county.  The meal gap is the number of meals needed to ensure everybody in your community can eat.   

Then work to research and understand the root causes of food insecurity in your community, and what resources are available today.
