One World Everybody Eats Cafe Listed #27 on Yelp's All-Time Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas

Taste Community Restaurant, Fort Worth’s non-profit restaurant, has earned Yelp’s status of ‘all-time Texas favorite’.

According to the National Restaurant Association, there are nearly 50,000 restaurants across the great state of Texas.  But Yelp has narrowed down the all-time top 100 Texas favorites.  And, coming in at #27 is Fort Worth’s non-profit pay-what-you-can restaurant: Taste Community Restaurant.

“We are honored to be listed as one of Texas’ favorites,” says Jeff Williams, Founder and Executive Director of Taste Project.  “Taste is a reflection of the heart of Fort Worth that shines through our volunteers.  Because of them, our guests get a taste of Fort Worth and Texas every time they join us for lunch.”

“When it comes to food, Texas has it all,” said Farrah Akhtar, Sr Community Director, Yelp Houston.  “We identified businesses in the restaurants category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews.”

Taste Community Restaurant is the first project of the Taste Project organization designed to help feed, educate, and serve Tarrant County’s food insecure population, a total of 16.6 percent of Tarrant County’s overall community (Feeding America).

Taste’s solution is a fresh and healthy pay-what-you-can restaurant where everyone in the community, regardless of financial means, can enjoy a healthy, high quality meal. The menu has no prices.  Guests are simply asked to:

  1. Pay what you can afford;

  2. Pay what you would typically pay; or

  3. Pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need.

“I 100% agree with the high ratings of this restaurant,” says Monie H., guest and yelper.  “This spot is busy for truly good reasons — friendly service, delicious food, and the ability to do some good while enjoying yourself.”

“Such a cool concept. Really a gem in the Ft Worth community. The food we had was all top notch,” says Kyle Y., guest and yelper.

Taste Project’s Taste Community Restaurant is open for lunch from 11:00am – 2:00pm, Tuesdays – Sundays (closed on Mondays).  You can make a reservation online at www.tasteproject.org
